The run started off easy. About three miles of flat trail right along the coast. It is so beautiful out there. Then we started the climb. About two and half miles and 1500 feet of up. Some parts were rough, really rough, but our spirits were high and we made it up without any complaints and with a little power walking. Our legs were burning, but that's when you know it's good. Lane ran ahead of us the whole time and took a bunch of pictures. He was pretty excited to be taking us out there. He's obsessed with that place. So we made it to the top and we rested for a couple minutes. The view was insane. And then we started our down hill. Lane helped us out and explained the technique. Watch where you're stepping, run on the balls of your feet, keep your back straight, and most importantly be careful. We flew down the hill and it was a blast. Down hill running is so weird, because you're going so fast so it should feel easy but at the same time your quads are on fire, so it's really challenging. Aaaahhh! It was so fun and so exhilarating. Definitely the most fun I've ever had on a run. We made it back to the car and I was actually really bummed that we were already done. We could have done more... and next time we will. And if you've never run the trails out at Montana De Oro then you're missing out.
Oh and one last thing... today was only my second time wearing my running skirt from runningskirts.com If you love to run and you don't have one of these you have got to get one. They're amazing.

Giving our legs a little break...
We made it!
